Tiny apartment or tiny home?

I love the idea of living more simply and possibly someday living in a tiny home. For years, I lived in a tiny studio apartment around 300 sq, in an old brownstone. It had lots of character, hardwood floors, a 50s vintage kitchen, and lots of windows. Even though I was in a small space having access to windows and fresh air made it more like a treehouse than a small apartment. 

What would you rather live in, a tiny home or a tiny apartment?
