August 28th is the anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s speech at the March on Washington has been turned into a sound bite of “I have a dream.” Please read full text of his speech and listen to what he said.

It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note in so far as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked “insufficient funds.”





On August 28th, 2020 thousands gathered in Washington DC to commemorate the 1963 civil rights March on Washington and in protest of police violence.
